Abstract:cloud computing conference 2010 In the current economic climate where the expectations of efficiencies and cost savings are growing from IT organizations, enterprises try to optimize the key parameters of their IT-initiatives - People (e.g. centralized or de-centralized operations), Process (e.g. level of process & systems standardization, GRC), and Systems (e.g. application architecture, data types, security, integration, and multi-tenancy requirements) to determine an effective execution model.

During this session, a leading practitioner from Wipro will share the company's experience in providing consultation and implementation guidance to enterprises for proper adoption of Cloud - private or public.

The insight will include details on the organizational pre-requisites, impact on existing operations and investments, and best practices for identifying, prioritizing and deploying projects on to Enterprise-cloud reaping the associated benefits of agility, cost savings and on-demand services while meeting the stringent enterprise security, performance and reliability requirements.

cloud slam 2010Jay is the Vice President and Global Head for e-Business Solutions focusing on Enterprise customers at Wipro Technologies. He carries P&L responsibility, and manages strategy and operations of this unit globally. He has over 18 years of IT experience of which he has spent 11 years with Wipro in various leadership roles spanning Consulting, Presales and Delivery.

In his strategy role, Jay leads the Emerging Technology Solutions team which focuses on areas like SaaS, Cloud, Web 2.O and SOA among other emerging technologies. He heads the Center of Excellence that constantly does Research and Development in these areas and creates IPs and solutions for customer business problems. Jay is recognized as a thought leader in these areas and frequently interacts with analysts, media and customers to provide insights in these areas. Most recently, Jay was the speaker at Oracle Open World 2009 covering SaaS and Cloud.

In his business role, he heads a 2000 people organization that provides services in the areas of Enterprise Portals, Collaboration, E Commerce and Enterprise Content Management to global customers. This division helps customers realize high business value through adoption of leading business and technology solutions in process areas across customer to customer, enterprise, partners and suppliers.

Prior to this role, Jay was based in the UK as the Regional Practice Manager, European Sales Office where he was responsible for Presales, Marketing and Strategic Account Management for the European Sales Operations.

Jay has extensive experience in various consulting engagements across industry and technology domains. He has also been involved in setting up global delivery environments for various customers and managing delivery for these customers. He comes with extensive quality and process knowledge in the areas of SEI CMM and is also adept in 6 Sigma methodologies.

Jay has a Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering from National Institute of Technology, India.

cloud slam 2010Ritwik is Principal Architect for portals and content management practice and has been a lead architect for SaaS initiatives in Wipro. He has been instrumental in setting up the center of excellence (COE) for portals and content management group. Ritwik is a B.Tech graduate in mechanical discipline from NIT-Kurukshetra.

Ritwik has over 13 years of experience in developing enterprise applications. A brief synopisis is summarized below -
6+ years in research and applied research activities in not only developing innovative solution services but also taking them to market with a definitive ROI
Led the PCM COE of Enterprise Solutions Group (receiver of the Best COE Manager award) in creating multiple innovative service-solutions (IPs) which have emerged not only as major account breakers but also provided bottom line growth by gains in productivity, effort save and quick compliance to standards ensuring faster time to market.

Was Invited to present a paper on PMUP at Budapest, Hungary (16th Enterprise Architecture Practitioner’s Conference
Won the Applied Innovation Awards (Jury formed by Forbes, eminent persons from the Industry and Erehwon) for IPs including one developed for rapid development of mission critical Web2.0 applications
Was instrumental in developing the SaaS-Platform for rapid SaaS enablement of applications in a non-intrusive manner deploying them on any kind of clouds, which can be provisioned dynamically

He is the primary author for 4 patents with published status and has published papers both at Developer and Research Forums.

He has won the prestigious multiple ‘Best Architect’ awards in designing application-solutions/innovative solutions in previous and present corporate experience which revolve around technology themes spanning from Legacy-systems to Advanced-Web and multi-tenant systems.
