In this expert keynote, Scott Chasin, CTO of McAfee’s Software-as-a-Service Business, will explore the various security concerns and challenges that face both cloud providers and their customers. He will also discuss McAfee’s innovative vision for changing how security is delivered from, in and for the cloud.

CTO Scott Chasin is widely recognized as a pioneer and leading visionary in the SaaS security industry, having pioneered the development and marketing of several cloud-based messaging, collaboration and security-focused technologies.

Chasin is credited with the launch of the first Web-based email consumer service, and he delivered the first IP-based commercially hosted messaging service supporting thousands of businesses and millions of end users worldwide. He also created and moderated the first full-disclosure security discussion list, Bugtraq, and was a key contributor to the creation of the first open-source, one-time password system, S/Key.

Prior to its acquisition by McAfee in 2009, Chasin served as CTO of MX Logic. He was also CTO and Chief Visionary for USA.NET, helping establish the company as one of the first global providers of Internet-based email and advanced messaging services. Previously, he formed one of the first information security consulting firms, Comsec Data Security, where he pioneered early industry efforts in computer security.

A frequent speaker at national and worldwide conferences such as Internet World, COMDEX, N+I, and ASPCon, Chasin participates on several messaging security committees, including the Anti-Phishing Work Group (APWG). He is also chairman of the BotNet Subcommittee for the Messaging Anti-Abuse Working Group (MAAWG), a non-profit coalition of worldwide carriers and technology providers dedicated to eradicating messaging abuse.
