Abstract: IT managers are frequently faced with the challenge of doing more with less. While traditional server virtualization enables consolidation and allows data centers to run more workloads on less hardware, server virtualization for aggregation, a new computing paradigm, combines physical servers in an innovative new way to create large virtual SMP systems – systems with tens or hundreds of cores and up to 4TB of RAM – within cloud environments.
